Planet Earth

Scale visualization (simulated)
Planet Earth is composed from satellite views of our world. Made amid the war on Palestine, the project marks a return to aesthetics—a sustained practice of looking that stills the noise and restores attention. From altitude, the planet turns painterly: rivers read as brushstrokes, colours settle into pastel, and land slips, at times, into the otherworldly.
Sabella reframes and recombines these terrains—shaped by nature and by us—until geography gives way to abstraction. The result is a luminous reading of Earth from above: an aesthetic excavation, looking down to look within.
Seen from above, Earth is both image and instrument—beautiful, measured, and governed. Sabella treats these terrains as material: he edits, recomposes, and shifts scale until geography loosens into atmosphere. What remains is not a map, but a way of seeing.
